After more than ten years, our team returns to Nyíregyháza for an NB I fixture. We faced the Szabolcs-based side not too long ago, three years back, but at that time the two sides met in the NB II. Interestingly, our current player Ákos Baki was in the starting lineup back then.
Szpari started the season well, sitting in fifth place after the opening four rounds, but have been unable to win any of their last five matches. In the previous round, the Nyíregyháza side suffered a heavy 5–1 defeat away at ZTE FC. Furthermore, Tamás Bódog's team has conceded the most goals and scored the fewest in the division.
The last meeting between the two clubs ended in a goalless draw. In NB I history, the teams have met 26 times, with Honvéd winning 12 and five matches ending in a draw. In the second tier, the sides clashed four times, sharing an even record: one win apiece alongside two draws.
