As reported, our team won a very difficult – less flashy, but highly tactical – match in Nyíregyháza – claiming a vital victory and climbing three spots up the table. Our defense kept a clean sheet for the second time this league campaign, and our team – as in every round so far – managed to find the back of the net once again. The match-winning move came in the 74th minute, when Ádám Szamosi fought hard to win possession in midfield before finding Tamás Somogyi. Our 17-year-old midfielder released substitute Ádám Gyurcsó with a brilliant pass down the left flank, who delivered an exquisite cross for Kevin Kántor to lift the ball into the net from close range. After the final whistle, the match-winner was interviewed by M4 Sport.
„The joy is immense because this was my first NB I goal, and I am doubly happy that this goal helped us win the match. This was extremely important for us. Congratulations to the team as well, because we stepped onto the pitch with a very positive mentality,” – summarized Kántor, who also reflected on his goal.
„I received a wonderful pass from Ádám (Gyurcsó – ed.), it felt like déjà vu because the exact same thing happened last season against Debrecen, although that goal was disallowed back then. Ádám's quality is fantastic, it was a tremendous pass and I had an easy finish. The gaffer always reminds us in training and before matches that substitutes are just as important as the starting eleven. With that mindset, players coming off the bench can contribute so much more. The whole team was eager to climb away from the bottom of the table. I believe this victory will give the team a huge boost moving forward.”
