Gergő Rácz and Patrik Pinte are now joined by Bonifác Csonka in continuing his career in Kispest. After a goalkeeper and a forward, this time a centre-back has joined Tamás Feczkó's squad. The 27-year-old, born in Budapest, began playing football in Felcsút and represented Hungary at four youth age groups (U16, U17, U18, U19). Having progressed through the academy ranks, he made his senior debut as a defender for Puskás Akadémia. Csonka subsequently played for Csákvár, Győr and Csíkszereda, most recently representing Szombathelyi Haladás.
“Honvéd is one of the clubs with the greatest history in Hungary, and as a footballer that is something you simply cannot ignore. In addition, after my injury the club helped me a great deal with my rehabilitation and I was very pleased when they saw potential in me. I definitely want to repay all of that with good performances and 'give something back'. It is well known that the supporters of Haladás and Honvéd have a good relationship. I was liked in Szombathely and I hope it will be no different in Kispest, though I know that has to be earned. I want to get onto the pitch as soon as possible and I am approaching the challenge positively” – the centre-back told our official website. He has previously played in virtually every central defensive role, both in back-two and back-three systems.
