As is well known, last Saturday we celebrated our first NB I victory in more than three years at Bozsik Arena after beating ZTE FC 1–0. We took the lead against the side from Zalaegerszeg in the 18th minute: Dominik Csontos crossed for our captain, Ádám Szamosi, who converted the chance. Our 19-year-old midfielder thereby scored his second goal of the season, while Dominik Csontos now has two assists to go with his two goals.
“This victory means a great deal, because after a very long time Kispest could finally celebrate an NB I win again. It brings enormous joy not only to us but also to our supporters and every single employee of the club. It is great to see everyone enjoying this victory so freely. We worked extremely hard for it, and finally we are where we want to be: we managed to keep all three points at home on our own pitch” – Dominik Csontos summed up after the final whistle. Our 23-year-old player stressed that it had been a difficult road to a top-flight victory and that the support of the fans had also played a key role in the success.
“We worked incredibly hard to be able to stand here in this beautiful stadium and say that we can celebrate an NB I victory. It has been a very long and difficult road, because when I arrived we were bottom of NB II. I knew it would not be easy, but one thing that so often represents a turning point in football is the support of the fans, because they are the 12th man on the pitch. They played a huge part both in NB II and in this victory. We may not have the strongest team, but we certainly have the strongest crowd.”
As in previous rounds, Honvéd players were again represented in the Team of the Round. This time Dominik Csontos and Ádám Szamosi were included in the best eleven from Round 6.
