Last Saturday we celebrated our first victory of the season after keeping all three points at home against ZTE FC. Ádám Szamosi contributed a goal and Dominik Csontos an assist. However, our 23-year-old player said he still felt the team deserved more points from the start of the season.
“I have a slight sense of disappointment because of the points; perhaps we deserved more. For the most part our performances have been fine, but obviously there is always room to improve and that is what we work on day by day. Overall I think we have played well and could have more points, but that is what this division is like. The matches are difficult and we have to think one game at a time” – he said.
Dominik Csontos now has two assists to go with his two goals, and thanks to his performances – alongside Ádám Szamosi – he was named by M4 Sport in the best eleven of Round 6.
“I like having responsibility towards the club, and I am very happy that my game is going well and my numbers are coming just as they did last year. But I am never satisfied with myself. It can always be better, there is always another level – that is my attitude, so I think match by match. I am working to perform as well as possible both for the team and individually. I think we have a lot of character in the dressing room and several personalities who are capable of carrying the team. Who manages to do that in any given match can always change, but I feel comfortable in this role and, when needed, I am capable of stepping forward for the team through my performance on the pitch. I am pleased that I have managed to do that recently.”
Our first team will play away to defending champions ETO FC in Round 7 of the OTP Bank Liga on Sunday. Our player spent almost a year and a half with the green-and-whites, where he also played an important role in their promotion to NB I.
“They were great years. I felt good in Győr and the situation there was similar because we are talking about a big club, and I was also able to celebrate promotion with the team there. I have only positive memories of Győr, so it will feel good to play in that stadium again, but there is no question that I will be doing so in Kispest colours. It is obvious what I will be fighting for, and I will be happiest if the three points are ours” – he said, before stressing that he expects a difficult match, while seeing team unity and attitude as our greatest strengths.
“I expect a difficult match because we are visiting the defending champions. Their team has changed a lot; some key players stayed but many left. In terms of their strengths, I think they have quality players and play good football. They are very attack-minded, but I think that with the right tactics we have a chance. Our strengths can be our team unity and attitude.”
