Our second team hosted BKV Előre on Sunday in the NB III South-East Group.
Gábor Kovács handed a debut to a goalkeeper, as this was the first league match for Zsombor Liziczay, who celebrated his 16th birthday in February.
We dominated the entire first half and produced several dangerous attempts in front of the visitors’ goal. We had to wait until midway through the second half for the biggest chance, when Horváth made a big save from Gáspár in a one-on-one. The visitors grew bolder in the final quarter of an hour, but apart from a few first-time shots they did not create another real opportunity. In the 88th minute it seemed we had secured the win: Pintér cut inside from the left through several defenders and, as he fell, played the ball to Menyhárt, who struck from eighteen metres with his right foot to give us the lead (1–0). Unfortunately BKV Előre had an answer in the final minute of added time. After a lofted free kick Liziczay saved Kesselbauer’s shot, but Bartha converted the rebound to rescue a point for BKV Előre.
Máté Pintér and his teammates face Gyulai Termál FC away in a week’s time.
