Budafok currently sit 12th in the second division and underwent a coaching change this week, with Géza Mészöly replacing Márk Nikházi.
The two sides met in the league barely a month and a half ago, when Budafok won 2-1 through goals from Szűcs and Rétyi, with Patrik Pinte scoring for us. Our league match in July ended 3-3 on Promontor Street, when Dávid Holman, Noel Keresztes and Zalán Kerezsi found the net against Budafok.
BMTE's squad includes two of our former cup-winning and league-winning players in Dávid Kálnoki-Kis and András Horváth, while Gellért Dúzs is spending the spring season on loan with the south-Budapest club. Of our current squad, Sebestyén Ihrig-Farkas previously played for the capital side.
We last met Budafok in a friendly in 2021, when the visitors won by a single goal in Kispest. Interestingly, the winning goal that day was scored by Levente Szabó, who has been called up to the Hungarian national-team squad by Marco Rossi, head coach of our 2017 title-winning side, for the Nations League play-offs against Türkiye.
Over the years, our friendly-match results have included 8-5, 5-1 and 4-2 victories, followed by 2-2 and 0-0 draws.
Our record against Budafok in friendly matches: 6 matches, 3 wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat, goal difference: 19:11
The match will be played behind closed doors, and we will publish a written report on our official website after the final whistle.
