Information and facts – everything worth knowing about the match against Szeged-Csanád Grosics Akadémia.

Tamás Feczkó's team face Szeged-Csanád Grosics Akadémia from 17:00 on Sunday in Round 28 of NB II. We currently hold a seven-point advantage over third-placed Kecskemét, so a win would mathematically secure our place in next year's Fizz Liga field. With any other outcome, our fate will also depend on KTE's league match at Kozármisleny.

Based on their last 15 league matches, Szeged are in the worst form in NB II. The team are currently 12th and remain winless at home in the spring, while away from home they have managed to celebrate three points only twice. They began the season under Zoltán Aczél, but he was dismissed after Round 16 and replaced by our former player and head coach Zsolt Laczkó, who has so far recorded two wins, two draws and six defeats in ten matches. Szeged most recently lost 2–0 to relegation-threatened Budafok, while at home they have lost by four goals to Vasas and by three to Videoton.

Players with links to both clubs:

Szeged-Csanád Grosics Akadémia have two Honvéd-developed players in their squad, Ákos Szabó and Milán Horváth. Szabó joined Szeged in the winter; he had the opportunity to play in five NB II league matches for Honvéd. Dávid Holman was our player between 2023 and 2025, scoring five league goals in the second division, while Kristóf Tóth-Gábor played in Kispest in the 2020–21 season. Our squad includes two former Szeged players: Ákos Zuigeber and Dominik Földi both represented the blue-and-blacks in spring 2024.

Head-to-head matches:

We have faced the Szeged club, founded in 2011, in one friendly and five league matches so far. There is reason for us to seek revenge in the league record: Szeged won each of the first two meetings 1–0, while last year the points were shared both home and away. In November goals from Medgyes and Novák produced a 1–1 draw, while there were no goals in Szeged, just as in the teams' most recent meeting at the Bozsik Aréna. We last beat the southern Hungarian side in 2016, when Richárd Jelena scored the winning goal in a friendly.
