Our women's team have also begun preparations for the 2026–2027 season. Head coach Dörnyei Balázs, captain Krisztin Sára and forward Vachter Fanni spoke about recovery, pre-season and the campaign ahead.

Although the heat did not make the work any easier, the first days are focused on physical assessments so that the coaching staff can gain a comprehensive picture of the players' condition.

“It is important for us to see the condition the players are in and to get an accurate picture of everyone's starting point. In our training work we will then use the information we receive from the assessments” – said our head coach, Dörnyei Balázs. Thorough background work preceded the start of pre-season and, according to our coach, it is already becoming clear which areas need improvement next season.

“I watched all the matches we played last season again, whether league or cup games. It becomes quite clear which areas we were weaker in, where we need to improve and what we need to place greater emphasis on during summer preparation. I can extract a great deal of useful information at times like this – for example, which game situations a player handled accurately at a high rate and in which areas they had difficulties in their position. I try to break this down individually because we have players with very different characteristics. We also have many young players whom we can test in several positions to find out where they can help the team most and where I can best support their development.”

Our captain, Krisztin Sára suffered a partial ligament tear in the cup match against DVTK during the second half of the 2025–2026 season, meaning our coaching staff could not call on her for the remainder of the campaign. Her rehabilitation went well, so she began pre-season with the team this week.

“I had a very good summer and I feel rested. I managed to travel a little as well, but towards the end of the season I was no longer available to the team because of injury, so I worked a lot on my return. Fortunately everything is fine and I have no pain. I can start pre-season with the team too, and I am very grateful to the coaching staff because I received all the support I needed during this period. Now, with renewed energy, I will try to do everything I can for the team.”

Our forward, Vachter Fanni finished the season with 18 goals in all competitions, although she was hampered by a trapped nerve during the closing stages of the campaign.

“We had a relatively short break compared with previous seasons, and everyone tried to recharge as best they could. Mine was spent on rehabilitation because I finished the season injured, but we are heading into the new campaign with renewed energy. I am sure there will be difficult weeks and demanding training sessions, but we have to rely on each other so that we can become as good as possible.”
