We were able to win for the third time within a week, although this time not in what could be called a classic derby, but in Soroksár. According to Tamás Feczkó, we played better football than our opponents, created chances and believed throughout that we would score the winning goal. Dominik Csontos eventually struck in the 93rd minute, giving us all three points and taking us to the top of the table ahead of Vasas, who have played one match fewer. After the game, our head coach mainly praised the team's resilience and mental strength.
"First of all, congratulations to Soroksár on progressing in the cup and on organising their defence very well. I have not seen Soroksár defend this well in recent years. We had enormous territorial superiority; in the first half it was sterile dominance with few chances. Perhaps we had one genuine big opportunity. In the second half we knew that with this possession advantage the opposition would tire. We refreshed the wide areas so we could get behind them even more, hit the woodwork twice and had many opportunities. There was a situation where they scrambled the ball off the goal line two or three times. It would have been an injustice if we had not won today's match" – our head coach said in his assessment, before praising the mentality of his team after the three matches just played.
"A team that can win three matches in one week – and three matches like these, the derby against Mezőkövesd, the one against Loki in Debrecen and now against Soroksár – is mentally very strong. We knew this would be the hardest match because, let's say, Soroksár had nothing to lose in this game. We are very, very happy, both because we won and because so many people travelled with us and once again created a home atmosphere for us. Personally, I am very happy that the boys can fight for one another, for the team, the club and the supporters until the very last second, and that has an effect. You can really see it in the results that we are capable of deciding matches even in the final moments." – he added, before also speaking about Ádám Szamosi, who suffered a shoulder injury.
"Unfortunately his shoulder popped out and he will probably not play again this year, so we definitely dedicate today's victory to his recovery and to having him back among us as soon as possible."
