Our team took the lead as early as the 8th minute through Ferenc Ujváry – who scored his first competitive goal in Honvéd colours – but after the break the hosts equalised through Balázs Varga. Although we had several dangerous opportunities in the second half, we could not score again and left Budafok with one point.
“We started the match very well because we scored a very nice goal. We also had chances to get the second, but unfortunately those opportunities went begging. I really did not like the second part of the first half, because the home team picked up every second ball, the game was being played in our half and the hosts could even have equalised. They started the second half with a sensational goal, but after that I felt it was an end-to-end game in which we had the bigger chances. Even at the end of the match we had several opportunities that we should have converted. This match certainly showed that Budafok are much better than their current position suggests” – Tamás Feczkó said at the post-match press conference.
“The result hurts a little, and based on the first half it is fair, but because of our bigger chances I feel we should have won the match. Congratulations to the home team because they were equal opponents in both their football and mentality. It may have been an entertaining match for the crowd, with lots of transitions and many touches inside the penalty area. We have added another point, but we would have been happier if we had managed to take all three” – he concluded.
Meanwhile, Vasas beat Kecskemét 2–0, collecting three points again after three winless league matches. The Angyalföld side will continue from second place, ahead of Mezőkövesd and Kecskemét.
