Our team beat Budafoki MTE 3–0 in the first home match of the season, on the club's 116th birthday. After the game, the two head coaches, Tamás Feczkó and Géza Mészöly, assessed the match.
"The players have worked hard to be able to produce matches like this. We wanted to decide the three points already in the first half. It was a very good, pulsating and action-packed match, but for that we also needed Budafok to commit to the game and play so well – they hit the post and had chances too. Congratulations to them for being able to produce that performance in this atmosphere and in front of so many spectators. We are happy with the three points, but it is frustrating that we could not score in the second half even though we had the opportunities to do so" – Tamás Feczkó assessed what he had seen.
Our team also beat Videoton FC Fehérvár 3–0 in the previous round. Ádám Szamosi and Ákos Zuigeber scored then as well, but this time Dominik Csontos found the net instead of Ákos Baki. Our head coach was also asked about the difference between the two matches.
"This was a birthday 3–0. Even last week it was sensational to see the away sector fill up, and there were people who did not travel to Székesfehérvár only because the tickets had sold out. Now more than 5,000 people came out, both for the birthday and for the team. I hope that in the next two away matches we can perform in a way that means there are already 6,000 at the next home game and, sooner or later, we fill this beautiful stadium. We are very grateful to them for creating this atmosphere and mood week after week. Just as we play with an attacking mentality from the very first second, they drive us on from the very first second as well" said our head coach, who believes the season has only just begun
"I am pleased if people see us as title contenders. There is a goal within the dressing room that we would like to achieve at the end of the season, and that is what we work for every day. At the same time, we are moving step by step; in every match we take to the pitch to win, so that we can get as close as possible to our end-of-season objectives. The players do everything for that, the club supports us in every way and the supporters are sensational, so everything is in place for a wonderful season. The road ahead is still very long and difficult; there will be low points when we will need even more support, but we hope that will come a long time from now" Tamás Feczkó concluded at the post-match press conference.
