On an unforgettable evening, coming from behind, we eliminated Debrecen after extra time in Round 4 of the MOL Hungarian Cup. Loki dominated the first half, but in the second our team showed enormous mental strength and determination to turn the match around. Zuigeber's winning goal in the 117th minute sent us through, and in the next round we will host ESMTK at Bozsik.
"We already knew that we were mentally strong, but I think it says everything that this time we were able to turn the match around away to Debrecen after going behind. The team worked very hard for this success. If we had not gone through, we would have been very annoyed, but we came here to qualify. I am very proud of the team and of every individual player" – Tamás Feczkó praised our team's mentality in front of the M4 Sport cameras after the match, and at the press conference he also discussed the tactical factors that led to the victory.
“Loki played much better in the first half and could have decided the question of qualification. At half-time we changed our defensive shape and then played the kind of football we know we can. The safer style we used in the first half was replaced by the style of play we are good at. Based on the second half I think we deserved to win, although towards the end of the match Loki could also have decided the tie. We went for the win in extra time as well. I am very happy because every one of my players believed in victory. We had to reorganise at half-time, and that was a decisive moment. The boys carried out everything we discussed. It was a real cup battle against a very good team. I wish Loki the best of luck in the league." – our head coach concluded.
