As is well known, our team won 4–1 in Mór in the third round of the Hungarian Cup. The hosts showed great sportsmanship and wished us every success in the competition. After the match, our head coach Tamás Feczkó also acknowledged that the Fejér county side made the first half difficult with good tactics, while he was pleased that several players who had previously received fewer opportunities were able to take the field.
"First of all, I am very happy that so many people came out to watch us. We wanted to delight our supporters with a winning match and plenty of goals. We faced a very organised and tactically disciplined opponent. They chose a good approach, converted their only counterattack and made the first half difficult for us. It was important to score as quickly as possible in the second half – and we managed to do that – after which we created a lot of chances, although I would have been happier if we had scored even more. In the second half we were much better at breaking down the opposition than in the first. A number of players featured who have had fewer minutes in league matches, and it was important to develop them too. There can be no question that we need everyone, but you could see that one or two players are not yet fully in match rhythm. Our task is to get as many players as possible onto the pitch in the league and to create as much competition for places as possible" – said our coach, who celebrated his birthday this week, before also speaking about Erik Kovács, who scored his first competitive goal in senior football.
"He already scored once in a friendly in Paks, and I am glad he got his first goal in his first competitive match as well. We pay close attention to our youngsters and would be delighted if every young player developed at the same rate as Szamo (Ádám Szamosi – ed.) has over the past six months" – Tamás Feczkó concluded.
