Our head coach reflected on yesterday's match and provided fresh information on the condition of the team.

As is well known, we recorded a 2-1 victory over Aqvital FC Csákvár in Round 22 of the Merkantil Bank Liga. After the match, our head coach Tamás Feczkó assessed what he had seen.

"We played very well in the first half. Before the visitors took the lead we missed a completely clear chance, but even after going behind we did not panic because the comeback was there in the game. We are strong both physically and mentally, and we did not get nervous even after conceding. The realistic outcome would have been for us to go into the dressing room 4-2 up. It annoys me that after our second goal we could not get the third; we had several chances to do so. At the same time, I am pleased that after that our goalkeeper did not have to make a save. I am proud of my players for showing the side of themselves that is needed when you have to fight tooth and nail for success."

Our team won the first match after an international break for the first time since 2021, while also recording a third consecutive victory at the Bozsik Arena.

"At home, in front of supporters like these, it is much easier to play, although away at Mezőkövesd and Ajka we were essentially playing at home too. Even so, it is easier here because we can play on a good pitch, in a beautiful stadium, in front of a lot of people. I am happy that we have managed to win three of our four matches at the Bozsik Arena" – said our head coach, who dedicated the victory to the entire 'Honvéd family' and to our tragically young former supporters' leader, Gergő Bordás.

"Psychologically, this was a very important win because we had already had several opportunities to get above the line. This time we definitely wanted to take advantage of the chance. We owed this to the club's supporters and employees, and to Bordi and his family as well. It may be a sign from above that in this match, precisely in the 30th minute, we were awarded our first penalty of the league season. I hope this shackle will now come off us." – he added, before also sharing fresh information on the health of the absent players.

"Over the past few months we have seen this group become stronger and stronger. Ákos Baki, Patrik Pinte and Dávid Holman were all unavailable because of injury, while Sebestyén Ihrig-Farkas had already been ruled out earlier, so there were quality players sitting in the stands whose absence any other team would have felt, but those who took to the pitch replaced them well. We hope everyone will be available next week, and as one of them came from our upcoming opponents, he may take the field with extra motivation. The players who came on from the bench – Branko Pauljevics, Tomi Csilus and Ákos Sigér – have also been working honestly for weeks, and each of them was able to contribute to our victory" – Tamás Feczkó concluded.
