Tamás Feczkó's side will play two matches back-to-back on 12 July, although the programme has again been changed by the organisers in Komárno. The first match, starting at 10:00, will be played in Imeľ, while the second, beginning at 12:30 – in which Komarno's U23 team hosts us – will take place four kilometres away in the neighbouring town of Nesvady. This means that in the earlier match we face KFC Komarno, who finished eighth as newcomers to the Slovak top flight, while in the second game – based on the advance information – the Komárno club will field its U23 side preparing for the Slovak third division.
Like us, the purple-and-whites have played three friendlies: first a 2–2 draw with Újpest, then a 4–0 victory over Pohronie, most recently losing 4–2 to Rapid Wien II. Miklós Radványi's team is preparing for a second consecutive season in the Slovak top flight after winning the second division in 2023/24 and then securing survival last season by finishing eighth in the 12-team league.
Komarno U23 have played one friendly so far, with Adrian Danada's team losing 2–0 to SK Soporna.
Patrik Pinte is the member of our squad who previously played for the Komárno side, registering six goals and four assists in 44 competitive matches between 2019 and 2020.
Saturday's games will be our 110th and 111th matches against teams competing in the Slovak league system. Our record is 60 wins, 16 draws and 33 defeats, and our recent form is also good: we have won four of our last five such matches, drawing the other, while three of our scorers in those games are currently Honvéd players (Barna Kesztyűs, Zoltán Medgyes, Benedek Simon).
Our last five matches against opponents from the Slovak league system:
2025: Honvéd–Slovan Bratislava II 3–0 (Our scorers: Medgyes, Simon B., Farkas B.)
2021: Honvéd–Sered 1–1 (Our scorer: Májer)
2020: Honvéd–Zilina 4–2 (Our scorers: Kesztyűs, Gazdag, Ugrai 2x)
2018: Honvéd–Zlate Moravce-Vrable 2–1 (Our scorers: Májer, Bamba)
