Honvéd BKE's veterans team recorded a far more comfortable victory than expected against Pénzügyőr despite not being at full strength: Lannert, Lázár and Komora were all absent. Even so, from the opening minutes the Kispest side made it clear who would leave the pitch as winners that day.
Honvéd dominated from the start and were soon rewarded. In the 12th minute Youla received the ball around halfway, left the defenders behind with incredible speed and confidently fired into the net from around ten metres (1–0). The spectacular goal set the tone, and Kispest continued to increase the pressure. In the 30th minute Youla was again the main man: he was brought down inside the penalty area and the resulting penalty was calmly converted (2–0). Two minutes later Patkó extended the lead (3–0), before in the 35th minute Youla tapped home from close range after a scramble in front of goal (4–0). Kamber also got on the scoresheet in the final minute of the half, making it 5–0 at the break.
Honvéd eased the tempo somewhat in the second half but still kept full control of the match. Nemes pulled one back for the visitors in the 55th minute, though it did little to change the pattern of play. In the 62nd minute Youla scored again to complete the 6–1 final score and crown an excellent individual performance.
The overall picture of the match reflected Honvéd BKE's dominance throughout, and the emphatic victory was thoroughly deserved. Plókai had very little to do, the defence operated solidly, while at the other end the team consistently created and converted chances.
The rivals also won, but Honvéd BKE retain their advantage and continue to lead the championship by 8 points over second-placed Ferencváros.
