On Saturday we hosted second-division leaders Kozármisleny in our first winter friendly. Our new head coach Tamás Feczkó did not include any of the winter signings in his starting line-up for the first half, so the Tujvel – Hangya, Pekár, Ene, Pauljevic, Bévárdi – Szamosi, Holman, Kesztyűs – Ihrig-Farkas, Medgyes eleven took to the pitch.
We recorded the first chance in the 12th minute, when Soma Lékai gathered Sebestyén Ihrig-Farkas's glancing header. Kozármisleny threatened for the first time in the 30th minute: first Alex Lacza just failed to reach Cipf's pass at the far post, then half a minute later Pesti's left-footed drive went wide of the right post.
In the 35th minute came Kispest's first goal of 2025: Ihrig-Farkas delivered from the left, Medgyes lost his marker in the middle and from five metres flicked the ball past Lékai into the bottom-left corner (1-0). Our lead did not last long, as in the 41st minute Zoltán Pesti found himself one-on-one inside the box after Kirchner's deflected shot and curled the ball beyond Tujvel into the far corner (1-1). At the end of the half Dominik Cipf tested Tujvel's alertness with a 25-metre effort, while at the other end Medgyes's shot changed direction off Holman and struck the right post.
Both head coaches changed their entire line-ups for the second half. For us, new signings Gergő Rácz, Patrik Pinte and Ákos Baki made their debuts, as did 16-year-old Viktor Petrók from our academy and Zoltán Gincsai from our NB III team.
There were fewer big chances in this period, with play mostly taking place in midfield and most shots blocked. Kozármisleny's biggest chance fell to Kócs-Washburn, who fired the ball into the middle from the byline; after a scramble in front of goal, Gergely Kocsis cleared off the line. Kispest's second goal came in the 71st minute. Patrik Pinte, who signed for Kispest this week and was celebrating his 28th birthday, made the week even more memorable with the winning goal: he broke through one-on-one from the right and fired into the bottom-right corner (2-1).
In the closing stages we could even have increased our lead. Noel Keresztes took a free-kick from the left and shot towards goal, but Schrenk clawed it away from the top-right corner.
Our team began the pre-season period with a one-goal victory, and in a week's time we face Slovan Bratislava II behind closed doors.
