After Wednesday's defeat in Kecskemét, another purple-and-white opponent awaits Tamás Feczkó's side, as Békéscsaba will be our next opponents. The match also begins a run of three home fixtures, as our upcoming league matches through October 5 will all be played at home.
The side from the south-east currently sit in mid-table, but travel to Kispest after a cup upset, having eliminated NB I side Nyíregyháza on penalties last week.
Supporter information:
- The match kicks off at 19:00 on Sunday, September 21 at Bozsik Aréna.
As is known, the Disciplinary Committee (FEB) of the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) first punished our club with a suspended closed-doors sanction and a fine, then barely a week ago imposed another heavy financial penalty and activated the suspended decision, thereby closing sector “B5” of Bozsik Aréna for our next league match, against Békéscsaba on September 21.
By decision of our club's management, season-ticket holders in sector B5 may take their seats in sectors B4 and B3, while tickets are also available for other areas of the stadium.
In addition, our discounted season tickets are still available as a final opportunity. You can find their prices on our graphic and on our ticket and season-ticket information page.
- The season ticket is valid for every home match in the 2025/26 season (both league and cup matches).
- Previous season-ticket holders can once again renew at a discounted price. We will reserve their seat until the day of the third home match (the home league match against Békéscsaba on 09.21.). Season-ticket renewal is only possible in person!
- The season-ticket card continues to entitle holders to a 10% discount in the Honvéd Shop.
- We will broadcast the match live on our YouTube channel.

From Békéscsaba's squad, János Takács, Bence Daru, Roland Vólent and Gergő Nagy are all Honvéd academy graduates. Nagy became champion in Kispest in 2017 and cup winner in 2020, and spent 12 years playing for the first team.
From our current squad, Sebestyén Ihrig-Farkas previously spent half a year with the south-eastern club.
Meetings between the teams:
We have faced Békéscsaba most often in the NB I, 55 times in total: Kispest won 29 of those matches, Békéscsaba 12, and the remaining 14 ended in draws. Beyond that, we have met the south-eastern side only twice, both last season.
Before last season, the last time we hosted the purple-and-whites was in 2016, still in an NB I league match, which we won 2–1.
In 1988 the two teams met in the cup final. The current Békéscsaba head coach Sándor Csató scored the decisive goal as Békéscsaba won 3–2.
Last season we faced the purple-and-whites again after a long break. Away we drew 1–1, while in the April return fixture we decided the match in the first half. The second half was also memorable because Tomás Tujvel saved a penalty before 16-year-old Zsombor Liziczay replaced him in goal.
