Several of our young players had the chance to prove themselves to Tamás Feczkó in the match, including Dávid Bakó, Máté Pintér and Ákos Szabó. Zoltán Gincsai and Viktor Petrók were given another opportunity after last week's game, while Dominik Csontos made his debut for our team.
We recorded the first chance in the 8th minute, when Benedek Simon's shot deflected off a Bratislava defender and reached the Slovak goalkeeper. Our first winter signing, Gergő Rácz, produced two fine saves in the first half: in the 13th minute Maros broke through one-on-one and aimed for the top near corner, but our goalkeeper denied him. Just under a quarter of an hour later he again saved an effort from Maros, this time the Slovak forward shooting right-footed from 17 metres towards the bottom-left corner, but Rácz was alert again.
We were the more dangerous side in the first half and created several opportunities, which finally resulted in a goal in the 27th minute. Jakub Balaz slipped on the right wing, Noel Keresztes collected the ball, dribbled inside and perfectly threaded a pass between two defenders to Zoltán Medgyes, who rolled a right-footed shot into the centre of the goal (1-0).
We did not slow down after the goal. First Mikolas pushed Pauljevics's 18-metre shot away from the bottom-right corner, then after the resulting corner Dávid Bakó was left unmarked, but the Bratislava goalkeeper saved his effort as well.
In the 42nd minute Hangya again took a corner from the left and Dominik Csontos, making his debut for our team, was brought to the ground, so the referee awarded a penalty. Our 18-year-old forward Benedek Simon stepped up and drove the spot kick into the top-right corner (2-0).
Tamás Feczkó changed the entire line-up for the second half, and in the first part of the period a Sigér shot and then Farkas's effort from a tight angle both narrowly missed the bottom-right corner.
In the 68th minute we put the meaningful questions beyond doubt. We won the ball near our own penalty area and Szamosi launched it forward; as it turned out, that became an assist, because Balázs Farkas broke clear, leaving his defender behind, and after a few touches rolled the third Kispest goal into the right side of the net (3-0). In the closing stages Bévárdi's free-kick still posed a threat, but Vydareny saved low to his left, so the three-goal margin remained.
We continue our preparations next Friday against Komárom VSE, while a video highlights package from today's match will soon be available on our YouTube channel.
