Last weekend our youth teams once again tested themselves against international opponents. Our U19, U17, U16 and U15 sides faced Croatian club NK Osijek, while our U13 and U14 teams played away to GNK Dinamo Zagreb.

U19:

NK Osijek (Croatia) – Budapest Honvéd FC 3-0 (2-0)

Line-up: István Tarjáni, Áron Russnák, Kende Ferencz, Ádám Csörgő, Marcell Merkl, Péter Milicz, Botond Schön, Márk Meskó, Milán Miták, Barna Kecskés, Erik Kovács

Substitutes: Zsombor Liziczay, Ábel Kovács, Ferenc Joó, Patrik För, Rupert Komlósi

Márton Bogdánfi, head coach:

“We managed to play a very useful and developmental match against what was almost a senior team. It took some time for us to adapt to their tempo; we are not used to opponents with this kind of speed and physicality. Once we managed that, we became equal opponents and several positives appeared in both our defending and attacking play. If we had converted our chances, the match could have been closer, but today the result was secondary. Many of our young players were able to show themselves at international level against players two years older, which is an excellent test of strength for them.”

U17:

NK Osijek (Croatia) – Budapest Honvéd FC 0-2

Line-up: Barnabás Balogh, Ákos Molnár, Soma Kralicsek, Álmos Bendegúz Martin, Benedek Varga-Sós, Szabolcs Csákány, Loránd Domján, Dániel Shodunke, Patrik Érsek, Milán Balaskó, Balázs Bokor

Substitutes: Dávid Czinki, Maximilian Dániel Happe, Máté Baki, Szilárd Szőke, Ferenc Miksa Szanka, Zalán Varga

Goalscorers: Balázs Bokor, Dániel Shodunke

Viktór Petrók, head coach:

“For almost the entire match we played with the right approach and attitude against an aggressive, physical opponent. In the middle zone we finally played patiently and tried to keep possession. Our pressing worked well again today, the boys worked very hard, and this time it was also reflected in the score.”

U16:

Budapest Honvéd FC – NK Osijek (Croatia) 3-1 (1-0)

Line-up: Krisztián Székely, Márk Érsek, Fábián Ortó, Botond Hegyes, Botond Rotár, Bence Domány, Magor Marinyák, Márk Jakab, Miklós Völgyi, Milán Malomsoki, Hunor Hajagos

Substitutes: Milán Petró, Milán Meggyes, Bence Remenár, Olivér Kardos, Kornél Solymos

Goalscorers: Hunor Hajagos, Botond Rotár, Márk Érsek

István Körtvélyesi, head coach:

“We played a very fast-paced, dynamic match against Osijek. Our opponents were organised and played at a very good tempo. We adapted easily and well, and the speed of our play was particularly good. We had a difficult task, which I was very pleased about; there were mistakes, but we worked our way out of every situation well. We scored some very nice goals and produced a good performance throughout. Congratulations to the team!”

U15:

Budapest Honvéd FC – NK Osijek (Croatia) 1-2 (0-2)

Line-up: Zalán Andor Szabó, Péter Szijjártó, Krisztián Palásti, Zsolt Török, Márton Menyhárt, Botond Varga, Richárd Pisont, Benedek Nyiri, Roland Józsa, Róbert Gerebenes, András Vass

Substitutes: András Komzsik, Gergő Matyó, Dániel Schill, Hunor Bolyki, Péter Szilárd Balázs, Alexander Magyar

Goalscorer: Botond Varga

Tamás Szamosi, head coach:

“Once again we played a high-tempo international match against a well-prepared team. In the first half we made several mistakes in areas we had discussed beforehand, and we tried to correct these at half-time. In the second half we could already see what we had wanted from the beginning: we showed a completely different side, were able to dominate in midfield and created several chances. Unfortunately we failed to convert two opportunities with an empty goal. We keep working, because these international matches are a major help in preparing our team to perform well in the league.”

U14

GNK Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia) - Budapest Honvéd FC 5-2 (3-1)

Line-up: Milán Mező, Kevin Bence Málint, Krisztián Bejanaru, Maksim Kamber, Botond Attila Kovács, Bence Palaga, Zoltán Tamás Karácsony, Zétény Oláh-Sebők, Benjamin Chukwuemeka Nnadi, Erik Gerencsér, Kevin Hanzély

Substitutes: Miron Marte, Zsombor Rácz, Csaba Tóth Junior, Olivér Oke Olamide, Gergő Tóth

Goalscorers: Csaba Tóth Junior, Botond Attila Kovács

Gergely Fűzfa, head coach:

“In an exceptionally high-quality match against a highly gifted team, we played proactively both in and out of possession! The boys experienced first-hand what the international level is like technically and tactically! On behalf of the entire Kispest family, special congratulations to Csabi Tóth, who returned from a long injury with a goal!”

U13

GNK Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia) - Budapest Honvéd FC 3-3 (1-1)

Line-up: Ábel Marcell Tóbiás, Zalán Balla, Zoltán Bánk Nyerges, Béla Olivér Pályka, Csongor Váradi, Bence Juhász, Dávid Izing, Gergő Juhász, Csanád Babos, Vince Noel Gál, Milán Walkó

Substitutes: Máté Pándi, Dominik Krapfel, Norbert Marsalla, Olivér Varga, Benjámin Pál, Tibor Benett Berki, Bálint Baji

Goalscorers: Csongor Várdai, Vince Noel Gál, Bálint Baji

Richárd Takács, head coach:

“On Saturday we played away to Dinamo Zagreb, where we took part in a high-intensity, excellent-quality match. At the beginning we needed a little time to adjust to the tempo, but as the game progressed we were increasingly able to show what we can do. Our opponents dominated in many phases, but our players defended with discipline, unity and great commitment throughout, while there were also many positives in our play with the ball. We created chances and scored goals through both spectacular individual actions and combination play. It was a day that taught the children a great deal and means a lot for their development. Thank you to the parents who once again travelled with us in large numbers and supported the team in a sporting manner throughout!"
