The home victory against Kisvárda meant a great deal to our team in several ways. Securing the three points was crucial for our position in the table, while also providing a welcome boost to the squad's confidence and morale.
“This victory came at a great time for us, so the atmosphere is much brighter, but I think that holds true in any sport: when the team wins, everything is good. Fortunately, that was the case for us last week, and we really want to keep this going. The next target is MTK; we want to maintain this positive mood and come away with a victory. If I had to rank it, I'd rate this win very high, especially after suffering a heavy defeat in Gyirmót. Obviously no one anticipated that, which was noticeable in the mood as well, since nobody was expecting a loss. This win was vital for bouncing back, and we were also able to climb up the table,” our midfielder reflected.
Another important fixture awaits us on Saturday: kicking off at 16:45 in Round 13 of the OTP Bank Liga, we travel to face 10th-placed MTK Budapest. The two sides share a storied past, having met 200 times in the top flight so far. Of those clashes, Kispest emerged victorious on 63 occasions, while 47 encounters ended in a draw.
“I expect a tough match; the points are very important for them as well. I believe that if we prepare well and everyone puts in the hard work, there is no question we can return home with a win. It would be a huge three points, allowing us to close the gap on the teams ahead. Mentally, I think it would mean a lot, both for the team and for the supporters.”
