Seven matches remain in this season's Merkantil Bank Liga. Our team are 12 points ahead of third place and two points clear of second. This weekend we visit 12th-placed Tiszakécske, who are winless in five matches and have won only once in 2026, yet have made life difficult for several teams, including holding Vasas and Videoton to draws at home this spring. We also have reason to seek revenge against Csaba Pintér's side after the teams drew at the Bozsik Arena in the autumn.

Head-to-head:
The shared history of the two clubs began in the Hungarian top flight in the 1997–98 season. In the away fixture the Bács-Kiskun side were one goal better (2–1), but in Kispest the goals flowed for the hosts as we won 5–0 through Mátyus, Borgulya, Bárányos and two goals from Csertői, while the yellow-and-blues were relegated from NB I. Tiszakécske FC moved to Cegléd in 1999, meaning local football had to be reorganised. After dropping as low as the county third division, they eventually returned to NB II in 2018. That season brought the third and fourth meetings between the teams, this time in the Hungarian Cup. Away from home Ben-Hatira gave us a 1–0 advantage, while the return leg in the capital ended 1–1, sending Kispest through on aggregate. In the 2023–24 season the teams met again in the Merkantil Bank Liga. At home we won 2–1 thanks to goals from Dominik Kocsis and Nikolasz Kovács, while in the return match a Gergely Bobál header earned us one point in Tiszakécske.
This season we are meeting Csaba Pintér's side for the third time. The coach appointed in the summer took charge of his first match in Kispest, where we won a June friendly 3–0 thanks to goals from Zuigeber, Medgyes and Pinte.
The two teams met again in October, this time in the league. We took an early lead through Gyurcsó, but a late Takács header rescued a point for the visitors. The away squad includes a former Honvéd player, Ádám Gyenes, who previously made 14 NB III appearances for our second team.
