In round 26 of the Merkantil Bank Liga we hosted Békéscsaba at the Bozsik Arena. Tamás Feczkó could not count on Barna Kesztyűs, Balázs Farkas or Sebestyén Ihrig-Farkas, but his team made it clear from the start that they would do everything to secure a fifth consecutive home victory.
Already in the first minute, the visiting defenders had to clear the ball from in front of Medgyes on the goal line. In the 10th minute, after Kántor’s dazzling dribbling, he laid the ball off to Keresztes, whose long-range effort missed by only centimetres. Two minutes later, Medgyes found the net following Bévárdi’s cross, but referee Attila Molnár ruled the goal out for a push. Our dominance continued, yet the more than three thousand spectators could not celebrate a goal: neither Szabó Alex’s nor Medgyes’s deliveries forced Uram into a save. In the 17th minute, after Baki’s superb cross-field pass, the ball went through Keresztes to Medgyes, whose shot flew over. The pressure finally produced a goal in the 22nd minute: Csontos played a brilliant ball to Szamosi, who looked for Kántor and found him, putting him into an unmissable position (1–0). Our team did not slow down after that. Uram still saved Pekár’s long-range drive, but he had no chance from the rebound as Szamosi arrived at exactly the right moment to score his first goal in Kispest colours (2–0). And it was still not over: first Keresztes headed over from a big chance, then in the 41st minute Kántor fought for the ball in midfield and played it on to Medgyes, who, after a solo run, brilliantly fired into the bottom-left corner (3–0). It was the 29-year-old forward’s eighth goal of the campaign.
The second half also began with a long-range Medgyes effort. Our top-scoring forward was only just off target, and Uram did not need a spectacular save, unlike in the 54th minute when the two faced each other again. In the 70th minute Bévárdi lofted a ball forward and Medgyes was millimetres away from scoring his second. In the 83rd minute the substitute, only 16-year-old Erik Kovács, also
Two minutes later the visitors were awarded a penalty in debatable circumstances, but our former player Roland Vólent missed. For the closing minutes, our home-grown academy goalkeeper Zsombor Liziczay, also just 16 years old, made his debut between the posts in place of the 'penalty-killer' Tujvel. After beating Kozármisleny, Soroksár, Csákvár and Gyirmót, our team recorded a fifth straight home victory and remained unbeaten in its last five competitive matches (4 wins, 1 draw).

Tamás Feczkó:
“In the first half the team played effectively and creatively. We scored three goals, but we had several other chances too. We had a clear opportunity in the very first minute. The boys carried out what we had planned. Everyone understood that only a win was acceptable in today’s match. We wanted to score goals in the second half as well and we had the chances to do so. We wanted to celebrate Lajos Détári with a confident, good performance. I’m pleased that so many of our young players were able to get on the pitch.”
