Summary of the current season:
Kisvárda, relegated from NB I last year, dropped plenty of points in the first half of the season in the second division, but the team came together by spring. They are still unbeaten in second-tier league matches in 2025 and have won the NB II title, meaning they can play in the top flight next year. The side from Szabolcs have gone 15 league matches without defeat; their last loss came in Szeged last November. Most recently they faced the blue-and-blacks and drew 1–1.
Players with links to both clubs:
In the Kisvárda squad, twins István and Dominik Soltész as well as Bence Bíró previously developed in Kispest, while our head coach Tamás Feczkó managed the Szabolcs side between 2023 and 2024.
Previous meetings:
We have faced Kisvárda in 16 league matches so far, all but one in the top flight. We won our first two meetings convincingly, with two victories and a combined 7–0 goal difference, and we are unbeaten in our last five league matches against the red-and-whites, although draws have dominated that run.
In the November league match, Ihrig-Farkas's goal had us leading for a long time at the Várkerti Stadium, but Gyurkó's stoppage-time header rescued a point for the red-and-whites.
