Last week we defeated league leaders Vasas FC 3–1 thanks to a brace from Ádám Nyers and a goal from substitute Kevin Kántor. That means if we beat BVSC and the Angyalföld side fail to defeat Ajka, our team will lift the trophy.
“I don't think anyone needed any extra motivation against Vasas. We did not want them celebrating the league title in our home, so everything will now be decided in the final round. The intention is always there to make a positive impact even when you come on as a substitute. Everyone knows that every single player may be needed, and that is why we are a team and a family. I feel fortunate; scoring in front of a full house was an incredible feeling. After nine months my parents were finally able to come and watch a match too — my father had been in Italy with his own team until now — and my girlfriend was there as well, so they gave me extra motivation,” – said Kevin Kántor, who replaced Ádám Gyurcsó in the 78th minute of the derby against Vasas and scored with his first touch just a minute later.
“Our fate is in our own hands, so we are focusing only on ourselves. Of course we have to beat BVSC — there is no question about that. On the other side, all we can do is hope Ajka can beat Vasas. A lot of people have asked what is better: to go up as champions while losing to Vasas several times, or to go up in second place after beating Vasas, and the supporters also felt the second version was fairer. BVSC have changed a lot in the spring and have been able to play much better. We have to go into every match with the same mentality: we want to win.”
