An important match awaited our team, who after the midweek defeat in Kecskemét hosted Békéscsaba at home in round 7 of the Merkantil Bank Liga. Tamás Feczkó made only two changes to the starting line-up: Kevin Kántor replaced Patrik Pinte, while Ádám Somogyi came in for Bonifác Csonka.
The first chances fell to the visitors. In the fourth minute Viczián headed against the post, then Tujvel had to push Kuzma's long-range effort away from the bottom-left corner.
In the eighth minute Szamosi headed the ball back superbly, but Pekár, arriving in the middle, shot over. Then in the 17th minute Szamosi produced a moment of brilliance, backheeling the ball into the path of Zuigeber, who took aim at Takács's goal from 16 metres. The goalkeeper saved the first effort, but had no chance with the rebound (1–0).
After 24 minutes Zsolna tried his luck from a dangerous angle, but his effort missed the target. A minute later Medgyes's deflected shot fell to Kántor, but he had no room left to put the ball past Takács, who came out well. In the 29th minute Szamosi attempted an overhead kick, and Takács produced a huge save to tip the ball out of the top-left corner. In the 36th minute Szamosi again played an excellent pass to Medgyes, and Takács once more denied our forward with a fine save.
Then in stoppage time, after a short corner, Kóródi headed towards goal and although Tujvel made a superb save, the rebound fell to Szabó, who smashed the ball with tremendous power into the far top corner (1–1). In the 51st minute Kántor played Hangya into a big chance, but his shot was blocked at the last moment by the Békéscsaba defence. In the 54th minute we again put together an attractive attack down the left: Csontos, Hangya and then Medgyes combined, and our quick forward aimed for the top-left corner, missing by only centimetres. In the 69th minute we regained the lead. After Csontos's corner Zuigeber shot from 16 metres in front of goal and although Takács saved, the ball bounced to Ákos Baki, who beat everyone to it and side-footed into the bottom-right corner (2–1). In the 74th minute Alex Szabó also returned from injury, our academy-trained defender replacing István Pekár. No major chance fell to either side after that, so we collected an important three points and remain unbeaten at Bozsik Aréna since May 12. We have now won four consecutive league matches at Bozsik Aréna. On September 29, next Monday, our team hosts Karcagi SC in round 8 of the Merkantil Bank Liga.

Tamás Feczkó, head coach:
The match started very well for neutral supporters, because by the eighth minute both sides had already had two chances each, although I am not particularly happy about that. Those who were here were thoroughly entertained. Full credit to Békéscsaba for approaching the match this way. There were a lot of transitions and we should have kept the ball more. After taking the lead we had the chances to finish the match, but instead of scoring the second goal we conceded at the end of the first half. The team reacted well and we wanted to score as soon as possible in the second half as well. No team has created as many chances against us as Békéscsaba did today, although that says something about both teams. I am certain they will achieve plenty of success with this style of play. It was important that we managed to win after the match in Kecskemét. Thank you to the supporters for creating a fantastic atmosphere again today.
