After the midweek draw in Szeged, our second team faced a Budapest derby against the Vasas reserve side on Sunday in Round 3 of the NB III South-East group.
In the first half it was mostly the visitors who created dangerous chances. In the seventh minute Papp saved Faragó's centrally directed shot, then the crossbar came to the rescue from Ottucsák's 28-metre strike. In the 30th minute the visitors created another chance: Horváth dribbled his way into a one-on-one from the right but his shot came back off the near post, and half a minute later Ottucsák aimed for the far corner, with Papp saving one-handed to his right. At the end of the first half our team could also have taken the lead, but Ménesi protected the near post. Unfortunately, the white-shirted visitors went in front at the end of the half, Vilmos Jován's long-range shot taking a deflection and looping over Papp into the net (0–1).
In the second half the visitors missed several clear chances, but in the 67th minute we gained a numerical advantage after Borgula stopped Ádám Nyers from breaking through on goal from behind. Unfortunately, a cold shower followed: in the 69th minute referee András Virág sent off head coach Gábor Kovács, then in the 77th minute Levente Szabó met a pass from the left first time and fired into the bottom-left corner to double Vasas II's lead (0–2). In the closing stages András László's side also hit their third post of the match, but in stoppage time we managed to improve the scoreline: Zoltán Alarishi was pulled down inside the penalty area and Dominik Földi placed the resulting penalty into the left side of the goal (1–2). The match ended almost immediately after our goal, so the three points went to the Angyalföld side. In a week's time we can seek our first league victory away at Dunaharaszti.
