Kecskemét, who finished 12th in NB I and were relegated, will be our opponent in our third summer friendly. Zoltán Gera's side has undergone major changes during the summer, with nine players arriving and thirteen leaving so far. They played their first friendly on Wednesday, beating Kozármisleny 3–2. We can spot several familiar faces in the opposing team: Bertalan Bocskay and András Eördögh both made their senior football debuts in Kispest, with the former making 33 and the latter seven top-flight appearances in red and black, and both also played for Honvéd in the second division in the 2023/24 season. Tomás Tujvel, who recently extended his contract, can likewise say he kept goal for both clubs, having represented KTE in the 2014/15 season.
We last faced Kecskemét in a summer 2023 double-header, when the purple-and-whites were preparing for Conference League qualifying. KTE won both matches by two goals. Before that, in the 2022/23 season we met the Bács-Kiskun County side three times in the top flight and did not lose any of them, recording one win and two draws.
As the 2025/26 Merkantil Bank Liga schedule was published this week, it is now also known that we visit Kecskemét in Round 6 on 31 August, while they come to Bozsik Aréna on 8 March.
