Two of our youth teams advance in the Hungarian Cup

U19

Hungarian Cup, Round 5
Fehérvár FC–Budapest Honvéd FC 0–4 (0–0)

HONVÉD: Balogh (Tarjáni 80.), Balázs (Szelényi 46.), Horváth, Csörgő, Schön (Kovács 70.), Komlósi (Tasi 58.), Gáspár, Kovács, Kecskés, Russnák, Joó

Scorers: Joó, Kovács, Horváth, Gáspár

Márton Bogdánfi, head coach:

“The first half was dominated more by duels and there was little continuous play. In the second half our opponents tired, while we were still able to raise the tempo, so we imposed our will and deservedly won.”

U17

Hungarian Cup, Round 5
Budapest Honvéd FC–ZTE FC 3–2 (2–2)

HONVÉD: Liziczay, Ferencz, Varga-Sós, Szanka (Szőke 64.), För, Martin (Schwarcz 64.), Molnár (Kralicsek 76.), Domján (Baki 81.), Varga (Solymos 76.), Bokor, Balaskó

Scorers: Varga, Bokor (2)

Viktor Petrók, head coach:

“We started with the wrong mentality: slowly, timidly and with many technical errors, which only made us even more uncertain. Because of that we could not put pressure on the opposition. The positive thing is that we managed to come back into the match from behind twice. We improved in the second half, but overall we cannot be satisfied with our performance.”

U16
Hungarian Cup, Round 5
DVTK–Budapest Honvéd FC 3–2 (3–0)

HONVÉD: Czinki, Marinyák (Rotár 46.), Kralicsek, Horváth-Garaba, Solymos (Érsek 72.), Hegyes (Kardos 72.), Barton, Domány, Völgyi (Vérten 46.), Hajagos, Szijjártó

Scorers: Horváth-Garaba, Hajagos

István Körtvélyesi, head coach:

“Unfortunately, in the first half we played slowly and overcomplicated things, which our opponents punished ruthlessly. Even so, I think the goals we conceded were avoidable. The positive is that after we regrouped at half-time, the boys did not give up and we managed to make the match close.”

Our U15 and U14 teams were due to play friendlies in Vienna away to Rapid Wien, but the matches were cancelled because of poor weather conditions.
