Our second team's spring campaign in the NB III South-East Group began on Sunday away to Vasas II, who were fifth before the round. Among the new signings, Nemanja Milencovici was named in the starting line-up, while Dominik Kovács and Péter Hideg made their Honvéd II debuts as substitutes. Gábor Kovács also started Teó Balázs, who had made his league debut for the first team on Saturday.
Our team began the match with a more attacking approach, yet the first serious chance belonged to the hosts. In the 15th minute, Rab drove the ball in from the left with power; Papp came out to save, then Rab headed the looping ball to Faragó, who turned to face goal, but Lőrinc Papp produced another excellent save in the one-on-one. Fifteen minutes later our team could celebrate a goal. Gergely Kocsis reacted quickest to a loose ball after a corner and side-footed into Sági's net from five metres (0–1). Our midfielder thus marked his return to Kispest with a goal after loan spells at Kozármisleny and Putnok. Vasas II replied in the 36th minute: Kameron Sus received the ball on the right, cut inside and powerfully found the left side of the goal (1–1). At the end of the half, Lőrinc Papp made two more big saves in quick succession, getting down to the bottom-left corner to stop the arriving Mamusits's shot before the forward's close-range follow-up also struck the goalkeeper.
The second half began with a huge Kispest chance. From the right, Ihrig-Farkas picked out Hetyei arriving at the far post, but our forward made poor contact while sliding in with the goal at his mercy, allowing Puskás to clear the ball from the goalmouth in time. Hetyei was the central figure in our next chance, however, as Áron Balogh knocked him over inside the penalty area. The fouled player confidently rolled the penalty into the bottom-right corner to put us back in front in Angyalföld (1–2). Five minutes before the final whistle, Vasas II were awarded a penalty. Forró cleared inside the box but kicked Ottucsák as well as the ball, and Réka Molnár pointed to the spot. Zsombor Puskás rolled the penalty down the middle (2-2). In the closing stages another curling home effort missed the bottom-right corner by centimetres, but the score did not change before the final whistle. Vasas II therefore kept one point at home, but the draw ended our opponent's five-match home winning run. Next week we continue the league season at home against Dunaharaszti.
