Our team played its third pre-season match on Saturday morning, against NB II side Kecskemét.
Barely a minute and a half had passed when Kecskemét took the lead. Czékus drove a low ball across from the left side of the penalty area, and Pálinkás stuck out a foot to divert it into the bottom-left corner (1–0). Fortunately we did not have to wait long for the response either. Kovács glanced on Földi's cross; the ball came back off the post, but Baki Ákos fired the rebound into the net from close range (1–1). Nine minutes later our 16-year-old forward Erik Kovács won the ball on the right and found Sebestyén Ihrig-Farkas, who dribbled outwards between two defenders before shooting into the far corner to turn the match around (1–2). After Baki, Ihrig-Farkas also marked his return from injury with a goal. Goalkeepers took centre stage during the remainder of the first half. First Dúzs saved Czékus's 18-metre shot, then Földi raced away on the counter down the left but Bence Varga stood firm in the opposite goal. After the drinks break came the save of the match: exploiting an error, Ádám Czékus went one-on-one with our goalkeeper, but Dúzs pushed away the shot heading for the bottom-right corner. In the final five minutes Varga saved Szilveszter Hetyei's header, then shortly afterwards our forward just failed to meet Földi's driven cross, although Ákos Szabó was still able to hit the ball first time, sending it narrowly wide of the bottom-right corner.
After the restart it was virtually only our team creating chances, and in the 58th minute that pressure produced another goal. Ujváry released Erik Kovács down the right, who played in Hetyei. After a shooting feint he shifted the ball inside and then drove it back into the left side of the goal (1–3). In the 65th minute the margin could have increased after another fine move. Pintér crossed from the left, but Simon shot wide. Eight minutes before the end the lead grew to three: Zuigeber won the ball in the opposition half and found Medgyes, who immediately released our new signing. Defenders recovered around Zuigeber, but with an elegant backheel he played the ball to Simon, who lifted it beautifully over Pálfi and into the net for Kispest's fourth goal (1–4).
Almost immediately after the goal Simon found himself in another clear-cut chance, but unfortunately placed the ball wide again, so the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
Tamás Feczkó's side has now completed half of its pre-season matches. Summer preparations continue next week with a double-header in Svätý Peter.
