Last week, Nikolett Krizsan and Hanna Alasz featured for the Hungarian U19 women's national team, which took on Germany and the Netherlands. Our goalkeeper started in both friendly matches and helped the national team with several crucial saves. Although our players were still gaining valuable international experience against the Dutch on Monday, they spent the rest of the week preparing for Sunday's league clash.
“For me, the international break was spent with the national team. We played friendly matches against two top-tier sides. Regardless of the results, I think we were able to play two very good matches and gained new experiences that will help our preparations for the European Championship. In terms of my personal development, it was also very positive that I was called into action many times in both games,” our 18-year-old player said.
Following the international break, our women's team returns to the pitch this Sunday, welcoming the side from Szeged to the Bozsik Aréna. Our team heads into the encounter on the back of an impressive run: Balázs Dörnyei's squad is unbeaten in four matches, and there is no question they are eager to continue this strong run at home.
“This unbeaten run is definitely very positive for us, and we will try to carry that momentum into the weekend. We have played very good matches recently, which clearly shows the team's strength as well as the hard training work we put in every day. This weekend we host Szeged, which we are very happy about, as we can finally play at the Bozsik Aréna under excellent conditions. We prepare in the same way as we do for any opponent: we strive for the best possible result, but the most important goal is to keep the three points at home.”
