As is well known, Balázs Dörnyei's side last played at the Bozsik Aréna on August 26 against ETO FC, returning to the stadium turf after nearly two months. Our team entered the league encounter against Szeged on the back of an impressive run of form, leaving no doubt that the players were determined to continue their winning streak on home soil.
In the 4th minute, Fanni Vachter threatened from a free-kick, but her centrally directed effort was kept out by visiting goalkeeper Jázmin Aradi. Shortly after, the side from the banks of the Tisza also tested from a set-piece, but Nikolett Krizsan gathered the long-range attempt with confidence. The wait for the opening goal did not last long, however: following an accurate cross from Fanni Vachter, Panna Nagy nodded into an empty net (1–0). This visibly provided the needed spark, as two minutes later Vachter also found the back of the net to celebrate her tenth league goal of the campaign (2–0). Barely two minutes later, Vachter struck once again: our 25-year-old forward was set up inside the penalty area by Panna Nagy and calmly dispatched the ball into the bottom right corner (3–0). Our player thus overtook Samantha Tristan and Medison Young to move top of the Simple Női Liga scoring charts. In the 21st minute, the visitors pulled one back; although our goalkeeper, returning from international duty, stretched at full length, Masa Antelj's long-range drive flew into the top right corner (3–1). In the closing moments of the first half, Horváthová's free-kick was blocked by a Szeged defender, sending us into the dressing room with a 3–1 lead.
After the break, the Nagy-Vachter partnership extended our advantage once more: Panna Nagy scored her second of the match, and in the 62nd minute, looking for Vachter from the edge of the six-yard box, she calmly lifted the ball over the keeper, allowing our top scorer to head home (5–1). In the 69th minute, Nagy struck again to complete her first-ever hat-trick in the NB I (6–1).
With this result, our team recorded their fifth consecutive league victory; their next match will take place next Sunday at 15:00 against MTK Budapest in Kispest.
