After Monday's assessments, our head coach, Maurizio Jacobacci, held his first training session. Our coach stressed that the most important thing is for the summer preparation period to pass without injuries and for our players to start the league season in good shape. According to our captain, Szilveszter Hangya, everyone is already excited for the season to begin.
“Last season was very tiring and exhausting, both physically and mentally, so I tried to spend as much time as possible with my family. At the same time, I had already been looking forward to seeing the boys again and getting started on the new season. We have moved up a division, and everyone is excited about working together. I have positive feelings about the season; we want to seize the opportunity and stay in the top flight for as long as possible.”
Our new signing, Deian Boldor felt similarly. The experienced Romanian centre-back celebrated a league title with ETO FC Győr last season, so he hopes to put the experience he has gained over recent years to good use at Honvéd as well.
“To be honest, I had really been looking forward to the first day – perhaps a little too much. I wanted to meet the boys, spend some time together and get to know them better. I was also curious about the training centre, which really is impressive. Everything is in place for us to work hard, improve as a team and keep learning. My goal is for us to achieve the best possible results and for me to help the team in every way I can.”
