Our team once again came from behind to win, this time away to BVSC-Zugló in Round 23 of the Merkantil Bank Liga.

There was no easy trip in store for our team this Sunday either, although we did not have far to travel as we visited BVSC-Zugló. Historically, we have played difficult matches with few wins against József Csábi's teams, while Tamás Feczkó was also unable to prepare with a full squad, as Barna Kesztyűs, Ákos Baki, Patrik Pinte and Dávid Holman were all on the injured list. Sebestyén Ihrig-Farkas, however, was able to take a place on the bench for the first time since his rib injury. There were only three points between the two clubs before the round, which also meant that a victory would have drawn us level with our rival – and, depending on the other results, even taken us above them – in the table.

We had to wait only eight minutes for our first big chance. After a corner, the ball first found Medgyes and then Csonka, but our defender headed over. In the 12th minute Csontos played a superb ball to Kántor, who had broken into a great position, but at the very last moment former Hungary international centre-back Paulo Vinícius threw himself in the way of the shot. The Zugló goal remained under threat in the next few seconds, when Keresztes met a header and missed by only centimetres.

Those missed chances were punished, because it was again the opposition who took the lead. In the 17th minute, Bence Kocsis controlled the ball in a debatable manner, probably illegally, before – admittedly with perfect execution – smashing a left-footed volley into the right side of the goal (1-0).

The pattern of the game changed little: we continued to take the initiative, while Zugló tried to make use of the opportunities that came their way, with little success. In the 32nd minute our dominance finally produced a goal. Medgyes collected the ball 25 metres from goal and, after a superb solo run, fired into the right corner from 19 metres (1-1).

The first big chance of the second half fell to the side from District XIV: Batai's shot from 16 metres went only centimetres wide of the right post. Then, in the 51st minute, Kántor got away and, after a fantastic series of dribbles, brilliantly set up Medgyes, who made no mistake from close range this time either (2-1). It was the 29-year-old forward's seventh league goal, making him our top scorer of the season.

In the 55th minute, Erdélyi produced a huge save with his foot to keep out Bévárdi's deflected effort at the end of a counter-attack, preserving our one-goal lead. A little over ten minutes later substitute Farkas could have extended our advantage, before Pekár came closest to scoring our third, but the fine margins and Lady Luck did not favour us. Both coaches then made changes. József Csábi tried to alter his team's play and used all of his substitutions, while Tamás Feczkó gave minutes not only to Csilus, Sigér and Vernes but also to Erik Kovács, who made his NB II debut at just 16 years of age.

The score did not change after that. We won for the second match in a row, and for the fourth consecutive time among our victories we did so after coming from behind.

Tamás Feczkó's assessment:

Once again it felt like we were playing at home. Based on the quality and quantity of our chances, this could have been a comfortable win. What matters, however, is that this was the fourth match we have won after going behind; that cannot be a coincidence. By the 12th minute we had already had three chances, yet it was the opposition who took the lead. The goal did not unsettle us; we kept playing exactly as we had before. I am happy that our 16-year-old player Erik Kovács was also able to make his debut.
