Because Mezőkövesd and Vasas both won on Sunday, we went into the league match against Karcagi SC in third place, although in terms of points dropped and goal difference we had started the round effectively leading the table.
Tamás Feczkó made several changes to his starting line-up, with captain Szilveszter Hangya dropping out due to minor muscle pain. Alex Szabó, meanwhile, returned to the starting eleven for the first time after a relatively long absence, as did summer signing Ádám Gyurcsó, while in a departure from our usual shape we attacked the visitors' goal with four offensively minded players. Our head coach also named just 16-year-old Tamás Somogyi and our most recent Puskás Award winner, Dávid János Gáspár, captain of our NB III side, among the substitutes. On the other side, Attila Varga naturally selected former Honvéd player Patrik Hidi and two academy graduates, Lóránt Fazekas and Kristóf Szűcs, in his starting eleven.
In the 10th minute Hidi curled the ball onto the head of Máté Kovalovszki, who beat everyone to it from six metres and headed into the right corner (0–1). The response came quickly. Two minutes later Szamosi crossed, Kántor fought for the headed clearance, Fazekas wrapped him up and brought our striker down, and Karakó pointed to the spot. Dominik Csontos took the penalty and confidently smashed it with tremendous power into the left corner (1–1). In the 20th minute Medgyes played a fine pass to Gyurcsó, who shot after a superb feint, but the ball flew just centimetres wide of the left post. In the 36th minute Kántor found himself in a shooting position, but Szekszárdi managed to block at the last moment and our forward's effort died in Engedi's hands. In the 39th minute Zsolt Pap tried his luck from distance, his powerful shot heading under the bar finishing only centimetres over. In the 40th minute Zuigeber cut inside and from sixteen metres placed the ball precisely into the bottom-right corner (2–1). Then came the bonus in stoppage time: after Kántor was fouled, Zuigeber curled a free kick into the near corner (3–1).
Gyurcsó fired an effort in the 48th minute, and four minutes later Medgyes did the same. Engedi did not need to intervene on the former, but had to save twice on the latter occasion – also denying Szamosi after the rebound. In the 54th minute the visitors nevertheless pulled one back, when Zsolt Pap found the bottom-left corner from around 16 metres (3–2). Once again, however, the response was immediate. Gyurcsó took a free kick from the left, Kántor arrived at the near post like an 'express train' with perfect timing and glanced the ball into the near corner (4–2). The goal bore a striking resemblance to our striker's first Honvéd goal. In the 59th minute Gyurcsó again delivered superbly into the middle, this time from a corner, and Medgyes's shot from the centre flashed only centimetres wide of the left post. In the 64th minute Hangya's cross picked out Kállai, whom Pap could only stop illegally, so Karakó awarded another penalty. Csontos again stepped up and, although he changed direction, once more converted confidently (5–2). In the 77th minute we then witnessed a historic sporting moment: academy player Tamás Somogyi, only 16 years old, replaced fellow teenager Ádám Szamosi. At 5,885 days old, he became Honvéd's second-youngest player ever to appear in a league match, with only Rudolf Jeny making his debut earlier. In addition, after the Bobál brothers, the Somogyi brothers became the first siblings since them to play for Honvéd. The score did not change after that. We claimed a confident three-goal victory, our fifth successive home win in front of our supporters and at the same time our 10th home victory under Tamás Feczkó. Tiszakécske visit Bozsik Aréna on Sunday.

Tamás Feczkó, head coach:
I am happy that we have managed to win 10 of our 12 home matches. A team fighting for serious objectives has to take to the pitch like this. Once again we had to come from behind to turn the match around, but it gives me huge pleasure that no matter what happens, we keep moving forward. I am pleased that Karcag embraced the game and that it became an entertaining match for the crowd, although it annoys me a little that we did not score another goal when we had the chances to do so. We had never played in this shape before, and Tomi Somogyi and Feri Ujváry took to the pitch at incredibly young ages.
