Honvéd II have also begun preparations for the spring continuation of the NB III South-East Group. Over the coming weeks our team will play five friendlies against NB III and Slovak opposition.
On January 24 we host Zsámbék at the Honvéd Academy. They sit 14th in the North-West Group and were county champions last season. Two more training partners then arrive from the North-West Group: eighth-placed Budaörs visit on the final day of January, and ninth-placed Bicske one week later in Kispest. We also played both teams in friendlies a year ago, with BSC winning 5–2 and Bicske 2–1. On February 13 Gábor Kovács’s team play an away friendly against Žilina B, eighth in the Slovak second division, before holding the league dress rehearsal – just as in the summer – against Dunaszerdahely’s reserve side on February 22. We beat the yellow-and-blues 1–0 in July with a goal from Dominik Hancz.
The NB III South-East Group resumes on March 1, with our team beginning the league campaign against Vasas II from 11th place.
