Two of our academy age groups had league matches on Friday. Our U17s hosted ETO UNI FC, who were also fighting for podium places, while our U19s welcomed Szeged. Viktor Petrók’s players produced an extraordinary match against the visitors from Győr, although they also surely gave their coach quite a scare. After 22 minutes our lead was already three goals, but that three-goal advantage was quickly reduced to one in virtually a matter of moments. Loránd Domján’s goal before the break calmed things down, however; we reorganised and Győr’s response came too late, so we added three points to our tally.

Our U19s went into the break with a 2–1 lead thanks to goals from Gáspár and Nyers. The latter then added a second, while Rupert Komlósi also found the net, as Márton Bogdánfi’s players closed the year with a convincing victory and now trail leaders MTK Budapest by two points.
Viktor Petrók, head coach:
We played a very useful, high-quality match. Both teams approached the game similarly, trying to play proactively both in possession and when looking to win the ball. The first half was played at high intensity, and our high press, mid-block defending and the transitions stemming from these phases worked very well. I only liked our possession in patches; we need to play with much more patience and courage, think forward and make fewer technical mistakes. The team invested a great deal of energy in the match. Overall, we tried to show our style, and I am especially pleased that this was also reflected in the result. We need more matches like this! I thank the team and the staff for their work over the half-season!

G: Gáspár (19.), Nyers (39., 50.), Komlósi (68.), while Pleskó (32.).
Márton Bogdánfi, head coach:
For a significant part of the match we played outstanding, attractive football, created a great number of chances and deservedly collected the three points. I wish the team and the staff a good rest!
