A midweek round awaited Gábor Kovács's players, against a Martfű side we had been unable to beat in either of the previous two seasons.
Our youngsters were excellent in the first half. Seventeen-year-old Viktor Petrók, who has already made his first-team debut, scored twice, bookending Kispest's goals in the half. Teó Balázs, playing only his second NB III match, also found the net, while the experienced Sebestyén Ihrig-Farkas showed no mercy to Martfű either. We went into the interval with a commanding four-goal lead. We started the second 45 minutes where we had left off: Dominik Hancz, who scored twice in the weekend friendly, also got on the scoresheet to make it five. Gábor Kovács then gave opportunities to several youngsters, with Roland Paksai, Rupert Komlósi, Gergő Tasi and György Botos all making their competitive debuts for the second team.
The score did not change late on, so we ended our winless run with the biggest victory of the Gábor Kovács era and prepared in style for Sunday's away continuation against SZVSE.
