Our side started the match with their usual momentum. In the 5th minute, Youla gave Honvéd the lead from Sánta's cross. Two minutes later, Andric signaled that he was injured and was replaced by Trembulyák. After another two minutes, Kenesei's spectacular shot bounced off the crossbar and over the goal line to level the score for the visitors.
In the 16th minute, coach Bálint Mursa was forced to make another change as Bence Lannert also picked up an injury, with Lukács coming on in his place. Less than a quarter of an hour had passed, and two injuries as well as two forced substitutions were already hindering Honvéd. However, the closing stages of the half went brilliantly: first Youla found MTK's net, then three minutes later Bárányos also struck, sending the teams into the break with a two-goal Kispest lead.
The injury crisis continued in the second half, as barely had the restart taken place when Plókai came on for Sinkó. The tables turned in a matter of five minutes: Krisztián Kenesei scored twice and Makrai once past Komora, handing the visitors the lead. Sánta was also injured, but since Honvéd had no substitutions remaining, he had to stay on the pitch. MTK went on to score at will, ultimately handing Honvéd a double-digit defeat by the final whistle.
