As known, our first team hosted Újpest at Bozsik Aréna last Sunday, concluding the capital derby with a 1–1 draw. In the 70th minute, Vlijter gave the visitors the lead through an individual effort, but our reply arrived swiftly: three minutes later, substitute Patrik Pinte equalized with a header.
“I miss the points. I think most of our play is fine, but we strive to develop week by week to get better and better. Looking at the last match, tactically I think we were solid, although I missed creating more chances. However, I believe we can build on this. Above all, we miss the points, and that is certainly felt within the squad, but we have the characters in the dressing room who can approach this situation in the right way. Naturally, several of us have been in similar situations before: we've experienced both better and worse periods with the team. Despite this, I believe we are heading in the right direction, and from here the only way is up,” reflected our player, emphasizing that alongside continuous improvement, the most important thing is for the team to make steps forward week in, week out.
“I feel that we need to work game by game, week by week. Me too, to be as good as possible, but most of all I expect the team to remain united, stay positive, and achieve something better together.”
Following the home league fixture, our first team continues on the road: on Saturday in Round 10 of the OTP Bank Liga, they visit 11th-placed Nyíregyháza Spartacus. It will not be unfamiliar territory for our player, who previously spent half a year at the Nyíregyháza club.
“I spent half a year in Nyíregyháza, but the club has changed a lot since then. We expect a physically strong side that plays with unpleasant, aggressive pressing; nevertheless, I think we have every chance there, and I trust that we can head home with points.”
