Information, facts and figures – everything you need to know about the league match against Szentlőrinc.

We have made a perfect start to the Merkantil Bank Liga season, with 3–0 victories over Videoton FC Fehérvár and Budafoki MTE sending us into Round 3 top of the table. Our opponents will be Szentlőrinc, who, like us, have not trailed for a single minute in the league and are also unbeaten, although so far they have only recorded two draws in the opening rounds and therefore collected four fewer points than us.

We have reason to seek revenge against Róbert Waltner's side, as this is our first chance to beat the team from the Baranya town in a competitive match.

SUPPORTER INFORMATION:

  • The match kicks off at 17:30 on Sunday in Szentlőrinc at the Szentlőrinc SE Sporttelep.
  • Due to the limited capacity of the ground, the home club is providing 200 tickets for the away sector, just as in the previous season.
  • Tickets:
  • All 200 tickets sent to Kispest by Szentlőrinc have been sold!
  • In addition, a limited number of tickets (20–30) will be available at the venue.
  • Refreshments: Concession stands will be open for supporters in both the home and away sectors. Only cash payments will be accepted at the away-sector concession stand.

  • Entry to the affected sections will be coordinated by traffic police and civil guards.
  • We will broadcast the match live on our YouTube channel.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SZENTLŐRINC:

Founded: 1912

Club colours: red and black

Current league position: 10th

League record: 0 wins, 2 draws, 0 defeats

Goal difference: 2:2

Head coach: Róbert Waltner

Goalscorers: Arnold Ambach, Richárd Nagy

Major achievements: Five-time NB III champions

Szentlőrinc completed a historic season last term, finishing in fifth place. As a newly promoted side, Róbert Waltner's team performed above expectations.

Interestingly, Szentlőrinc's last three league matches have all ended 1–1, one of them being last season's final round at Kozármisleny. Richárd Nagy's side shared the points at Budafok in the league opener, then did the same against Kozármisleny last week.

Shared players and a battle of brothers:

Several former Honvéd players now play for Szentlőrinc. Kristóf Tóth-Gábor made six NB I appearances in Kispest colours in the 2020-21 season, while Lukács Bőle spent two seasons at our club and scored five goals in 33 top-flight matches. Interestingly, our midfielder Barna Kesztyűs's brother, Máté Kesztyűs, is a Szentlőrinc player, while Kevin Kállai's older brother, Zalán Kállai, also joined Szentlőrinc recently. Zalán, however, will spend this season on loan at Nagykanizsa, so only one brother-versus-brother battle can take place in this fixture this year.

Head-to-head history:

Our first team have faced Szentlőrinc in one friendly and two league matches so far.

In the 2–2 friendly played in spring 2022, three goals came from penalties. Szentlőrinc led 2–0 through spot kicks from Rétyi and Bányai, before Milán Májer pulled one back in the 84th minute and Bence Banó-Szabó made it 2–2 three minutes later.

We played our first competitive match against the Baranya side last October, when Szentlőrinc won 1–0 through a goal from Bence Keresztes.

Most recently we faced the red-and-blacks in April. Kevin Kántor found the net with an acrobatic effort, but the referee disallowed the goal for handball, and the match ended 0–0.

Our three matches against Szentlőrinc so far:

2024/25, NB II: Szentlőrinc–Honvéd 0–0

2024/25, NB II: Honvéd–Szentlőrinc 0–1

2021/22, friendly: Honvéd–Szentlőrinc 2–2 (Our goalscorers: Májer, Banó-Szabó)

Referee:

Attila Molnár will referee Sunday's match. In the spring he took charge of our 5–0 league win over Kozármisleny and the 3–0 victory against Békéscsaba. Overall, our record with him as referee is five wins, two draws and three defeats.
