The agreement was signed by Árpád Séllei, managing director of Honvéd FC Kft., and Zoltán Szondy, president of FK Csíkszereda. The partnership covers both the senior teams and their youth development structures, namely Honvéd's academy and the Székelyföld Labdarúgó Akadémia. Among other things, the parties committed to providing professional exchanges for their pre-academy and academy coaches, hosting one another at training camps on a reciprocal basis, organising joint friendly matches and seeking to invite each other, again reciprocally and potentially several times a year, to tournaments for youth age groups. The agreement also covers player exchanges in the sense that the clubs will provide league playing opportunities for one another's players at both academy and senior level.
At the signing, Zoltán Szondy, president of FK Csíkszereda and the Székelyföld Labdarúgó Akadémia, expressed his hope that the parties would genuinely be able to help one another and that young players developed in Székelyföld would thereby be able to integrate more effectively into Hungarian football.
Árpád Séllei revealed that the partnership was initiated by Péter Szijjártó, Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, who is known as a passionate Honvéd supporter.
„We thank the minister for drawing our attention to this opportunity and helping this agreement come about, one in which we are delighted to participate. Any agreement is worth only as much as the substance with which it is filled in the future. I believe we can help one another. Honvéd has a leading academy that works very well in Hungary and provides many players to Hungary's youth national teams. We can help the Csíkszereda academy with coach education, and under the agreement their coaches can come to us and, so to speak, practise their profession in a foreign environment, develop and certainly benefit from the experience. We can organise training camps and friendly matches, and take part in international tournaments. I hope we can support one another at senior level as well. Although Honvéd's NB II team is currently not in a league position befitting the club's history, we will straighten ourselves out. Csíkszereda's senior team, meanwhile, is fighting for promotion to the first division and we believe they will achieve it, as they are top of the table. Since they employ almost exclusively Hungarian players, from the summer they will also be able to help Honvéd target the first division and lift the club back to the place it deserves. We believe our relationship will work and that, together with Csíkszereda, which is proud of its Hungarian identity, we will support one another and in doing so provide quality players for Hungarian football” – Honvéd's managing director told our website.

Árpád Séllei was accompanied by Endre Bajúsz, a former Hungarian champion, a Vojvodina Hungarian footballer born in Senta, who told our website:
„What struck me during the discussions here, and what will certainly help the players here move forward, is that for them playing in the Romanian league makes every match feel almost like an international fixture. This is enormous experience, something we cannot experience in Hungary unless we buy it at very great cost. Within one or two years, the exchange of ideas and knowledge between the clubs could reach a serious level, and if the integration of young players into the senior team really works here the way we see it, and Csíkszereda also gains NB I status, then we will be able to make even greater use of the opportunities arising from the partnership.”
