After a 63-day break, our team will finally play another league match, and against an opponent we have faced 115 times in the NB I and also met in the 2018 cup final – on Monday we begin the spring part of the 2025–26 season against Videoton FC Fehérvár.
The side from Fehérvár endured a difficult autumn, winning only three times in 15 rounds and remaining without an away victory. Tamás Pető replaced Gábor Boér in mid-November and then recorded two draws against Szentlőrinc and Budafok. Videoton had mixed results during winter preparations: they drew with NB I side MTK but lost their last two matches at home to NB III teams III. Kerület and Veszprém.

Our squad includes four former Fehérvár players. Summer signing Bence Varga came through Fehérvár’s academy but did not make a league appearance for their first team, while Ádám Gyurcsó recorded 27 goals and 41 assists in 140 competitive matches for the red-and-blues. Tomás Tujvel guarded Fehérvár’s goal between 2018 and 2019, including in a Europa League group-stage match against BATE Borisov, while Szilveszter Hangya spent six years as a Videoton player.
Head-to-head meetings:
This will be our second meeting with Videoton in the second division. In the season opener we produced a commanding performance to win 3–0 at the Sóstói Stadion, defeating the Fehérvár side away from home for the first time in a long while.
The shared history of the two clubs goes back a long way. We previously met Videoton 115 times in the top flight, including the unforgettable 2017 title decider, when Márton Eppel’s goal brought not only victory but the championship as well.
Our biggest wins came in 1987 and 1995, when we celebrated 5–0 victories on both occasions.
Videoton have visited the Bozsik Aréna, opened in 2021, only twice. In 2022 we came from behind to win 3–1, before the visitors won 1–0 in the autumn of the same calendar year.
