As is known, Ádám Somogyi recently took part in a three-day training camp with the U21 national team, and this time his younger brother Tamás Somogyi has been called up by the U19s.
Our young midfielder made his top-flight debut alongside his brother in the season opener against Kisvárda and has since started five matches for our first team. Our 17-year-old has already recorded both a goal and an assist in NB I: thanks to his impressive performances and his volley against Paks, he was selected in M4 Sport's Team of the Round. His goal against the Tolna side was also chosen among the three best goals of Round 3. After NB I, our player can now prove himself with the U19 national team. Tamás Somogyi has previously represented Hungary at U16 and U17 level, but can now continue at a higher age group with the national side preparing for the European Championship qualifiers.
The U19 national team's next programme will run from September 20 to October 3, 2026, and includes an international tournament in Serbia. Hungary's youth side will play three friendly matches: on Thursday, September 24 at 16:00 they face Romania, followed by Bulgaria and then hosts Serbia.
Congratulations to Tamás on his national-team call-up, and we wish him every success!
