On Monday evening the wait will be over and the 2025–26 Merkantil Bank Liga season will resume. We begin the spring as league leaders and immediately face a real test of strength, as Videoton FC Fehérvár visit the Bozsik Arena, which remains an impregnable fortress for visiting teams. As is known, one of our key players, Ádám Szamosi, suffered a shoulder injury in the league match against Soroksár in November and was unavailable to our head coach Tamás Feczkó for the rest of the year. Our young midfielder played in all three friendly matches during the training camp in Turkey, which he says contributed greatly to regaining the form he had before his injury.
“This training camp will definitely benefit us because we trained a great deal and played three friendly matches within five days, while we also had two training sessions a day before the matchdays. I think our fitness will be there, which was important for me too because I was coming back from an injury. Everyone received an equal workload. I played in all three matches so that I could regain match sharpness. I think by the last one I had almost managed to get back to the form I was in before my injury” – Ádám Szamosi said on M4 Sport’s 'Csak a Honvéd!' programme. Looking ahead to the spring opener, he stressed that the team had been eagerly waiting for the league to restart and to meet the supporters again.
“Just like in the summer, we want to start with a win again. I am not worried about the team, even though we lost all three friendly matches; we are going into this game with the same confidence. Winning any league is very difficult – whether it is NB I, NB II or even NB III. As players, we have to approach every weekend as if it were a league final. The more matches we win, the longer we will remain in first place. This time there can be no question that we have to think only about this one match and collect the three points.”
