As was also stated in the pre-season information, clubs whose supporters commit racist or discriminatory offences at matches can expect even stricter sanctions than before, and under the new regulations this also includes all forms of anti-Roma abuse.
In the event of an offence, the disciplinary committee may sanction clubs with the closure of a sector and subsequently with matches behind closed doors.
According to the disciplinary regulations, it is prohibited to violate “the dignity or integrity of a country, a person or a group of people on the basis of race, skin colour, ethnic group, nationality, social origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, language, religion, political or any other opinion, wealth or birth.”
MLSZ is committed to ensuring that football matches are exclusively about sport, that teams can play them in a sporting atmosphere, and that spectators can enjoy the games safely and in civilised conditions.
As has also been reported in recent days, the MLSZ disciplinary committee has opened proceedings against eight teams – including our club – because of supporter disorder, racist expressions and offensive shouting observed at matches.
We therefore respectfully ask all our supporters to refrain from such discriminatory expressions and to support the team in a sporting manner!
Thank you!
