Our team opened the NB III South-East group campaign on the final weekend of July with a 1–1 draw against Dabas. Looking back on the season opener, head coach Gábor Kovács assessed what he saw as follows: Overall, I am satisfied with the team's attitude and performance. They would have deserved the win because they put a huge amount of energy and effort into it! In the first half, the visiting team had sterile territorial superiority, but they only threatened our goal from set pieces and we did not allow them to create chances. After the break, both teams did a lot to try to win and we also took more risks, so the game became more open, but the bigger chances and opportunities came our way, and we were able to turn one of them into a goal. Because our squad is very young and still inexperienced at senior level, we were unable to preserve our 1–0 lead, because in the 90th minute, while ahead, different decisions had to be made on the pitch.
The only criticism I made of them was that matches will not be won by the starting eleven, but by the team! The players who begin on the bench are just as valuable as those on the pitch; once they come on, it is their absolute duty to add to the team's play! I am certain the quality of our team play will improve from match to match; this is where we are at the moment."
Because of the weekend cup round, our team had no competitive match, but did play a friendly on Friday morning, where we also drew 1–1 with Ferencváros II.
The league returns on Wednesday against last season's unbeaten champions of the Csongrád-Csanád County First Division, Szeged-Csanád Grosics Akadémia II.
Szeged did not start the league well, losing 5–1 in Gyula, so they go into the round from last place.
We have faced Szeged II twice so far. In autumn 2023 we drew 0–0 away against the southern Great Plain side, then won the home league match 1–0 thanks to a goal from Benedek Simon.
