Our club held a board meeting today, hosted on this occasion by the Budapesti Honvéd Sports Association. The meeting was attended by our owner Tamás Leisztinger, our president Péter Szijjártó, board members István Gergely, Péter Gajda and Imre Garaba, as well as our managing director Árpád Séllei and sporting director Sándor Fórizs. The owner of our club introduced Zsuzsanna Bányai, who will handle the organisational duties of the board, and the fifth board member, Lieutenant General Zoltán Mihócza, the Chief of Defence Staff’s deputy responsible for territorial defence, thereby completing the new board structure.
Árpád Séllei reported on the events of the past month, after which one of the key agenda items was the introduction of the “Player of the Month” award. Under the new system, the recognition will be presented in every month in which the team plays a league match. The nominees for November were Dominik Csontos, Zoltán Medgyes and Tomás Tujvel.
Our president Péter Szijjártó highlighted at the meeting that our club is reaching a significant milestone and is getting ever closer to the Bozsik Aréna and the Budapest Honvéd Academy becoming the property of Honvéd FC Kft. The relevant legislative amendment has been submitted to the Legislative Committee, and the new Sports Act is expected to be adopted soon.
During the good-spirited discussion, the parties agreed that our club will also have a place in the 'Csak a Honvéd' programme operated by BHSE and broadcast on M4 Sport. The parties will meet again in January.
